Happy Martin Luther King Day! Here is your Monday industry update:
The construction industry added 290,000 jobs in 2014 (a nine-year high). In December, contractors added 48,000 jobs (the most jobs added since last January) as overall payroll growth hit 252,000 and unemployment declined from 5.8% to 5.6%.
The “work for hire” doctrine establishes that most of the work completed during a time of employment technically belongs to the employer.
