A recent article in Realtor Magazine highlights how tablets have revolutionized the way that businesses function. The article discusses how when Ed Nauhaus, a broker-owner of Neuhaus Realty Group in Austin, decided to run his business with a tablet, Google drive, and google office he instantly saw positive results. Ed chose to use an iPad while his partner preferred a Samsung Galaxy. Because their collaboration was through the cloud it was seamless. They were able to search through data bases, write contracts, and download listings in a much more efficient manor. Ed said,
“It’s with me all the time,” Neuhaus says of the iPad Mini he now carries. “Wherever I am, I can pull up anything I need. I just can’t imagine being a slave to a desk anymore.”
Gene Allen, a sales associate from Resh Realty Group in Virginia Beach, VA had a similar experience with tablets. Gene bought an Android and raved about it’s battery life. He uses the tablet for all of his daily work like downloading information and taking notes. He spent less than $300 for the Wi-Fi version and used a Motorola Droid Maxx phone as a hot spot to connect him to the Web. Gene regrets not having paid for insurance as his screen cracked when he dropped the device. Insurance is an investment worth making…especially in the construction industry.
“The things that got me are the 18-hour battery, the screen brightness, its built-in stand, and the fact that I can plug in all sorts of devices.”
Tablets can help reduce the time you and your coworkers spend on tasks and makes collaboration seamless. Using BuildingBlok on a tablet makes creating RFIs, daily reports, timesheets, punchlists, uploading project photos, and updating the schedule intuitive and efficient. Why not get everything done in half the time?
